Open for Business

by Mark Ionn on January 31, 2013

Afternoon everyone,

It was great to see students return to school and to personally catch up with parents. Our thoughts are with many families who are currently dealing with property damage and simply getting life back to where it was. Almost half the student population turned up this morning. Education Minister, John-Paul Langbroek and John Krause visited the school and spoke with students today, noting the return rate and delivering a strong message of support for the school and school community.

Buses

Please be advised that Tamborine Mountain Buses are operating today (not Logan though) and that times may be affected, as well as some minor route changes.

Changes to Classes

During the holiday break, one of our teachers (Courtney McIntosh) was transferred to another school. The reason for this is that even though our school population has grown (15 students more than Day 8 2012), the student-teacher ratio (or Staffing Planner) has only allowed for 15 class teachers, meaning that the school has had to make a change that will affect class placements of some students in the P-2 area of the school. A school administration representative will contact you to confirm your child’s placement for 2013. We are committed to making this transitional phase as minor and smooth as possible.

Stay safe,

Mark

Hi Mark,

Thanks again for the updates. When could we expect to be notified if our children are affected by the P-2 changes?

Thanks
Tanya :)

Hi Tanya, parents of affected classes have already been notified. We do have some parents on our list that we have been unable to contact due to technical difficulties.
